The Community Development area of opportunity focuses on our members’ impact on our local community and encourages our members to find ways and develop projects that make life on our community (the Richmond metro area) and the world better.
This area of opportunity includes all of our community service projects, charity work, etc., as well as our work to encourage involvement by our members in local, state and national government (e.g., voting drives, meet the candidate forums, visits to the legislature, U.S. Capitol, White House).
Some current projects in this area include:
- Project WARM
- V.A. Pizza Party
- Drive for the Blind
- Feed the Homeless/Dinner Service Project
- Punt, Pass & Kick
- Richmond Christmas Parade
- Howlin’ Halloween Party
- Little Santa Party
- Paint a National Park Project
- Camp Virginia Jaycee
- Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
- Relay for Life
In addition, we have recently held other projects in this Area of Opportunity, including the Richmond Improv Festival, Habitat for Humanity, Food Drives, Clothing Drives.
We are always looking for more ways that we can positively impact the Richmond community. If you have any project ideas or suggestions, we’re open to them. Just let us know!
